Lustleigh Diary is in the sought-after village of Lustleigh in the Dartmoor National Park, Devon. It is a small village and civil parish nestled in the Wrey Valley and between the towns of Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead. Often dubbed ‘the prettiest village in Dartmoor’, Lustleigh is a beautiful blend of thatched cottages, narrow lanes and lush green woodland. There is a new community path that runs between Bovey Tracey, Lustleigh and Moretonhampstead which brings in a high number of visitors to the village. Close to the village are great arterial motorways, the A38 being only minutes’ drive away and equal distance to Plymouth and the Cathedral city of Exeter with mainline railway, M5 motorway and International Airport.
Due to the size of the business premises, it could easily be operated by a couple team and many times with one person only. It is seen as the central hub and is hugely supported by the village and visitors. The village draws a large influx of tourists and Lustleigh Diary is the only shop. The opening hours are currently 9.00 – 18.00 but this could easily be extended earlier or later to expand on the already impressive income. It also offers a simple outreach post office facility for which training will be provided onsite. We, the agents feel there is tremendous scope to expand into “parcel drop-off” with DHL, Hermes, eBay or as a ‘click and collect’ to increase profitability.
